If you’ve been pricing limousines and comparing costs from a few different companies, you’ve likely found out that the cost of renting a limousine can vary a lot from one company to the next. While the price is an important factor, you’ll need to compare more than cost alone to find the perfect limousine service to fill your reservation. Ever heard the old saying “you’ll get what you pay for”? Limo rental is no exception. We all love a good deal but limos are supposed to be upscale, high end luxury transportation. Would you expect to get a Rolls Royce for the price of a Kia? If you find one then it’s probably not going to be very nice!
How do we price our limos?
All our rates are calculated by the hour with a set minimum cost. Minimum costs vary by the vehicle type, day of week and the season. Rates are higher during peak seasons like prom season (April and May) and December.
Is a Point-to-Point cheaper than booking 1 hour?
Depending on the duration of the ride, both Point to point trips and 1 hour bookings may fall under the minimum cost bracket. The minimum cost bracket will vary from company to company and from season to season. For example you may be able to book a small limo at lunch time on a Tuesday in January for a minimum of $300 while the same vehicle may have a minium cost of $1,000 on a Saturday evening in April (during prom season). In this case the hourly minimum on that vehicle has likely changed from 2 hours to possibly 6 hours. It’s important to ask questions to make sure you’re getting the most use out of your money. Say you’re trying to price out a “point to point” for a fancy ride to dinner thinking that it’s going to be cheap because the ride is short (say 20 to 30 mins) but all the limousine companies in your area are charging a 3 hour minimum, because it’s just not beneficial for them to go out for less than that, then your point to point is going to cost the same as hourly service for 3 hours. In which case you could likely get round trip service (to and from dinner) for the same price.
Is it cheaper to book Point-to-Points than hourly rental?
It’s a common misconception that it costs less to book multiple point to point trips than an hourly rental. Unless your point-to-point trips have several hours in between them (usually 5 more more hours in between) then it would actually be cheaper to book an hourly rental. Point-to-Points are priced at the minimum cost for that specific vehicle which is slightly less than a 3 hour charge. For example if the point-to-point cost is $350 for a certain limo but you’ll be back to your drop off location within 4 hours of your pickup then the hourly rental cost for 4 hours might be $565. Thus a four hour rental is less than two point-to-points totaling to $700.
Can I rent a limo for just 1 hour?
Yes, it’s possible to rent a limo for just 1 hour, however the minimum cost applies. The minimum cost is not the per-hour rate.
What does the price include?
We use an all-inclusive pricing scale. The total we quote will have a partial driver’s gratuity (15% – 20%), fuel and service charges included. The only time you’ll be charged additional after the ride is over would be for an overage in time (if you exceed the number of ours initially booked).
Do we charge garage-to-garage?
This depends on your pickup location. Any trip that begins and ends within one of our local markets will not be charged garage-to-garage. Our local markets incompase a 30 minute radius around Richmond (using the Google Maps pin for “Richmond, VA”) and inside the city limits of Williamsburg. If your pickup is more than 30 minutes from Richmond, you’ll recieve the first 30 minutes of travel free then travel will be charged from that point to your pickup address then from your drop off address back to the 30 minute radius with the last 30 minutes of travel at no charge. For example if your pickup and drop off points are the same and they are 1 hour from Richmond, 30 minutes of travel will be added to each end resulting in a total of 1 hour travel added to the total number of hours you’ll be booking. Don’t worry, we calculate all this for you and it’ll be included in your quote.
No hidden fees
We include all fees in your initial quote so you never have to worry about additional charges after the ride is over, unless you exceed the amount of time you book. Overtime costs will be charged after the trip has been completed. Overtime is billed at the same rate as the initial hourly rate and is accrued in 15 minute increments. For example if your group is dropped off 25 minutes past the contracted conclusion of the rental then you’ll be charged for an additional half hour (half of the full hour’s rate).
