This is typically a 5 to 6 hour route when departing from Richmond or Williamsburg. Timeframe can be extended as needed to allow more time at any vineyard.

These three wineries usually can accomodate larger groups with a reservation.

Route 2 offeres a shorter timeframe. If you’re departing from Richmond then this route can be done in 4 hours. This is a good option if you don’t have a lot of time or you’re working with a smaller budget.

Jolene Family Winery needs advance notice for groups of more than 10, however they don’t usually take reservations.

Wine Tour Route 3

A leisurely afternoon

Route 3 offeres a relaxing afternoon and gives you more time to spend at two of New Kent County’s larger wineries. This option can be done in 5 hours when departing from Richmond or Williamsburg.

Not usually any problem with groups over 10 but we always recommend contacting the wineries before arrival.

Wine Tour Route 4

Ventures out of New Kent

Route 3 extends into Charles City County for a visit to Upper Shirley Vineyards. Here you can enjoy views of the James River and right next door is Shirley Plantation which is thought to be the oldest plantation in Virginia.

This route can be done in 5 to 6 hours. is departing from Richmond or Williamsburg.
